**In Loving Memory of Vondel Lorquet**
July 23, 1983 – September 1, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, and loved one, Vondel Lorquet, who left this world on Sunday, September 1, 2024.
Born in Boston, MA, as the oldest of four siblings, Vondel was a unique and vibrant, yet private and introspective soul. Those fortunate enough to know him were touched by his child-like wonder. His heart was as vast as his spirit was gentle, and he brought joy in his own quiet, meaningful ways.
As a child, his smile captured the fondest of hearts, and as an adolescent, he became a lover of basketball, quickly proving himself to be a skilled player. His passion for the game spread to his siblings, who came to love it just as much.
Vondel had a deep love for food, often creating delicious and imaginative meals in the kitchen. He was a laborer who worked tirelessly to better himself in his final days.
Predeceased by his younger brother, whom he missed dearly, Vondel now joins him in rest. He is survived by his parents, Marie Lourdes and Louis Lorquet; his sister and brother-in-law, Lavinia and Gims Paul Jr.; his sister and brother-in-law, Emlyne and Mardoche Luxcin; his nephews: Tahrez, Shannon, Zachariah, and Zion; his nieces, Genesis and McKayla; as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins, and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Lorquet, and his grandmother, Anna Adrien. We will forever hold dear the memory of his unique charm, his laughter, and his boundless imagination.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of a man who fought valiantly and lived with a heart full of hope will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Temple Salem Seventh Day Adventist Church, located at 222 Woodrow Avenue, Boston, MA 02124.
A private burial for family and close friends will follow.
