Biography of Virgile Pierre-Jean
Sunrise: January 12th, 1955-Sunset: January 1st, 2025
Virgile Pierre-Jean was born on January 12th, 1955 in St.Louis Du’Nord, Haiti to Roselie Horatius and the late Charity Pierre-Jean. He was the oldest of 5 children.
After his primary studies at the Baptist Evangelic, he went to Port-de-Paix for his secondary studies at Lycée Tertulien Gilbaud. From there, he went to Port-au-Prince to finish his secondary schooling at Lycée Petion.
He went back to St. Louis Du’Nord to teach at Sigma Omega. From, there he returned to Port-au Prince and worked at Lolerie National.
In the early 80s, he migrated to the U.S, specifically Miami. Later on, he moved to Boston. He found work as a courier for St.Elizabeth Hospital.
He wanted more for himself, so he went back to school and received an associates degree in technology. Virgile was extremely smart and hardworking. He was a man of many talents and skills. He was a carpenter, handyman, plumber, and painter. He started working as a Mental Health Worker at Shattuck Hospital. He then transferred to Erich Lindemann Mental Health Center where he worked for 32 years.
Virgile found the Lord again in 1993, and was baptized. He went from a Baptist to a Seventh-Day Adventist. He loved the Lord and going to church. He was a deaconess. He was always reserved and well dressed. After church, he’d go on visits to see the sick. This was his passion. He loved to sing and had a wonderful voice. He spent his free time singing hymns and praising the Lord. His favorite hymn was #360 “Dieu Tout Puissant.” His favorite Psalm was #46.
On June 27, 1993, he married his love, Joselene Sainfort. They later had three children, Joshua Pierre-Jean, Harrington Pierre-Jean, & Joanna Pierre-Jean. He leaves behind 5 children, Edwine Deliard, Michelle, Joshua, Harrington, & Joanna

In 2014, he started having prostate problems and then he was fine for a period of time. 10 years later, in 2024, it progressed into prostate cancer. In the same year, he underwent successful surgery to remove the tumor, preventing a spread. On December 15th, 2024,Virgile’s health took a turn when he collapsed outside of his vehicle at home, shortly after, going into cardiac arrest three times. Once transported to Beth Israel in Downtown from Beth Israel Deaconess in Needham via air transport, it was discovered that Virgile was suffering from blood clots (DVT) in his legs that broke off and traveled to his lungs, causing a pulmonary embolism which ultimately caused the cardiac arrest. On January 1st, 2025 at 1:35PM, Virgile took his final breath in the embrace of his family. Virgile will truly be missed. We love you and Happy Birthday!
