Thomas Porro Sr. Obituary

Porro, Thomas A., Sr., 87, of West Roxbury, March 11, 2026.  Beloved husband of the late Eleanor M. (Flaherty) Porro, he was the devoted father of Thomas A. Porro, Jr. and his wife Lucy of West Roxbury, and Gary Porro and his wife Lisa of Malden.  Loving brother to the late Marie Rabs and her husband Buddy, Frances Marden and her late husband Robert, the late Richard Porro and his wife Elaine,  Elizabeth Mueller and her husband Fred, Gerald Porro and his late wife Donna, and Alfred Porro and his wife Donna.  Tom was the cherished “adopted” grandfather of Megan Kelleher of South Boston and Sean Conley of Roslindale. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and an untold number of friends.
Born and raised in Boston, Tom graduated from Boston English High School, served in the U.S. Army, and was long-time proud member of Teamsters Local 25.  Tom loved spending weekends and summers first at his camper in eastern New Hampshire, and then for many years at his cottage at Lake Winnipesaukee, where he made a large group of wonderful friends.  Lucky enough to retire at an early age, Tom was able to enjoy travel around the U.S., Canada, Europe, and especially the Caribbean.  Tom and Eleanor would often travel with family and close friends, but were known for bonding with the people they met on all of their trips.
Tom always had a smile on his face, was quick to laugh and make others laugh, and could be made immeasurably happy with a good meal, especially if it was accompanied by a cold Knickerbocker.  He always lit up whatever room he was in, and his warmth and presence will be incredibly missed by his family and friends.
