Theresa Garrison Obituary

Theresa Julia (Malvone) Garrison, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13th, 2026 at home surrounded by loved ones. Theresa was born on April 3, 1936 to Angelo Malvone and Philomena Garcia Malvone in the North End of Boston. She attended the Girl’s High School of Boston, graduating in 1954. After graduation, she started her career working at New England Telephone where she was an exemplary employee and a union representative. In 1960, she married the love of her life, Stoy Garrison and became a proud Naval wife moving from naval station to naval station while raising her two daughters and supporting her country. They decided to raise their family in Boston. Theresa was a proud member of her community-volunteering as a Troop Leader with the Girl Scouts, a lunch mother at the Patrick F. Lyndon Elementary  School, and later was on the Parent Guild at Ursuline Academy. When her daughters were older, she returned to work at New England Telephone where she completed 25 years of service. Theresa was known for her willingness to help, and ability to take charge. After her retirement, she lived a full life, actively involved in her children and grandchildren’s lives- driving her grandchildren to school, sports and after-school activities. She was also civically active, she volunteered at the polls every election and even found her way to stardom, with a cameo in the Netflix Docuseries, “Trial 4”. 

Theresa was pre-deceased by her parents, Angelo and Philomena (Garcia) Malvone, her brother Angelo Malvone, and her husband Stoy Garrison. Theresa is survived by her daughters, Michele Garrison Glynne and her husband Micheal and her daughter Lisa Garrison, and her sister, Juliana Malvone. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Nicole and her husband Robert, Michael and his wife Alexandra, Brittany and her husband David, Louisa and her husband Michael, Michele, Kathryn, Garrison and his wife Anne Margaret, She is also survived by her eleven great-grandchildren, Tristan, Kieran, Madeline, Jack, Josephine, Evelyn, Julia, Ciara, Maisie, Riley and Liam. 

 Funeral from The Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St. West Roxbury on Wednesday March 18, at 9:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Holy Name Church at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Tuesday March 17, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
