Suma Swamisetty Mahajan

January 18, 1975 ~ September 10, 2021 (age 46)

With profound grief, I’m sorry to share the passing of my loving wife, Suma Mahajan on Sept 10, 2021.

She fought the battle with lymphoma very bravely for almost a year, going through multiple courses of treatment. She maintained amazing positivity throughout to get fully cured with the most innovative treatments offered to her and was very keen to help advancement of medical sciences whenever possible. In her words “Where there is faith, there is no room for fear”. Unfortunately, she passed away peacefully at the hospital, clinging onto my hands until the last breath. She made us proud for life ahead!

This is a big shock and loss for me and our 13 year old son, Arav and the entire family.

Suma led a special life, always feeling content on a daily basis with simple things. Her beautiful smiles and cheerful personality brought a spark to everyone around her, at home, work place and with friends and family. She has been my “rock” for almost 20 years of married life and showed me how to remain peaceful, and have courage through thick and thin. We lived  happily together on 3 continents, making friends everywhere, made fond memories with many many amazing vacations, as a family together.

Her immense faith and spirituality always gave her the larger purpose in life and beyond. May your higher mission transcend the bounds of life and death as you advance on a course of absolute happiness. I can only wish that we are connected together always for eternity.

Mama, you always wanted my life to be filled with abundance of happiness & health. From an early age you helped me build confidence, enhance my creativity, always be empathetic with others, and to continue building on my social skills. I know you have been proud to see my resilience grow during tough times, at the same time, continue to remain humble as I grow into adult years ahead. I will love you always, you were my buddy at home everyday, helping me in many things ranging from academics to my social life and especially cherish and treasure the fun and entertainment we shared together.  I am so so grateful and thankful to be your loving son.

Suma is our beloved little sister, exuberant, fun-loving, animal lover, compassionate, highly creative, stylish, our fashion guide from a young age and someone who never had harsh words for anyone - Anu and Usha

Suma will be very much missed, and we will have to find ways to carry on living without her presence. We love you beyond what we can express.

Your always loving husband, Madhur and “little Buddha” son, Arav.
