Shirley Mae Gray was born on November 16, 1952, and departed from this life on June 1, 2020 after a long battle with leukemia. She was an only child and was pre-deceased by her mother, Lucille Gray, on May 24, 1995. Shirley was born and raised in Boston, MA and was home-schooled.
Shirley Mae lived at the Colberg House in Roslindale, MA and developed a great friendship with her companion, Shawn McLean. Shirley Mae worked at “Friends at Work, Inc.,” which she thoroughly enjoyed because it made her feel independent. She loved to travel, dance, cook and shop. She was a very loving and caring woman and loved her collection of dolls and stuffed animals.
Shirley Mae leaves to cherish her memories: her cousins – the Wong’s, the Brown’s, the Ferguson’s and the Adamson’s.
God has not promised:
Skies always blue
Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through.
God has not promised:
Sun without rain
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.
But God has promised:
Strength for the day
Rest for the labor, light for the way.
Grace for the trials, help from above
Unfailing sympathy, undying love
