Richard Wilson Obituary

Richard W. Wilson (Dickie) of Roslindale passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025 at the age of 90.

Beloved husband of the late Mary J. Wilson.  Beloved father of Richard W. Wilson and his wife Lisa of Norwood, Mary Jane Wilson of Roslindale, Patricia A. (Trisha) Wilson of Roslindale, Michael T. Wilson and his wife Kathleen of Roslindale, Ronald A. Wilson of Roslindale, Catherine M. Goss and her husband Michael of Franklin, John J. Wilson of Roslindale, and Robert M. Wilson and his partner Mary of Roslindale.

Loving grandfather of Alyssa and her husband Chas of Orlando, Florida, Richard and his wife Mary Kate of Norwood, Shannan and her husband Oscar of Rhode Island, Michael and his fiancé Juliana Kilduff of North Attleboro, Dylan of Roslindale, Ryan of Franklin and Kyle of Pittsfield.

Loving great grandfather of Charlotte, Rory, Callum, Jack, Kaiden and Mary Elizabeth.

Our father was a strong willed blue collar worker who along with his wife raised eight children is no easy feat but they did it with ease. He had a sense of humor and would often offer advice even if you did not ask for it.  He worked as a tow truck driver for most of his life.  He was a loving grandfather and great grandfather always eager to hear what the grandchildren were up to. His great grands are too young to carry on a conversation with him. He loved his online frame that we could all drop pictures on, he would watch it for hours commenting on each and every picture.

He enjoyed watching all the Boston sports teams. It made us chuckle when he would call the Red Sox shit bums.  We could never schedule any appointments between 2 and 3 p.m. because he had to watch General Hospital. He would often watch Jeopardy and he would often have the correct answer.

After 90 years of life, 65 years of marriage, eight children, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren and numerous cats (he loved his cats), the memories will last a lifetime.

Dad you are loved and will be missed forever but we have stories to last a life time.

Visiting hours in The Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St. West Roxbury on Sunday May 18, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
