Richard Copp Anderson 3-28-1940 to 4-21-2022
With unending sadness, we mourn the passing of Richard Copp (Rick) Anderson of Norwood. He worked as an interior painter and as a paraprofessional helping autistic children adapt to standard classrooms. Rick excelled at both but one of his biggest gifts was his willingness to volunteer. He volunteered at Newbridge on the Charles, where he assisted veterans and their families. Rick also volunteered at the library where he taught English as a second language. He was so proud of his students. He was dedicated to his church, All Souls Unitarian Universalist, in Braintree. Rick was inspirational in his ability to make people feel welcome. He was proud of his membership in Massachusetts Men’s Gathering and the Orient Lodge Masonic fraternity and was a pioneer for acceptance of the LGBTQ community. Rick was a kind, funny, intelligent man of many talents who will be missed by so many people who knew and loved him. At Rick’s request, there will be no services. At a later date, there will be a coffee hour in his honor, held at his church. In keeping with his birthday wish “Don’t send me gifts, send it to the church” please send any donation considered to All Souls Braintree P.O. Box 850219 Braintree, MA 02185.
