Callahan, Paul M. of Jamaica Plain, April 7, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Jane C. (Wilson) Callahan. Devoted father of Nancy Scanlon and her husband William of Brookline, Paula M. Callahan and her husband Steve Davis of Jamaica Plain, and Paul M. Callahan of Jamaica Plain. Loving grandfather of Kyler, Michaela, and Miranda Davis, Christina, Alexandra Dean and her husband Robert, Stephanie Sexton and her husband Ryan, Elizabeth and William Scanlon. Loving Great Grandfather of Bennett Sexton. Brother of the late Edward, Donald and Gloria. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Paul was a loving, generous, and caring person who dedicated his life to serving others. Paul graduated from Jamaica Plain High School as the Class President and captain of the football team. Decades later, he continued to bring his classmates together on reunion trips and monthly luncheons. Paul was also a memeber of the U.S Army. Paul was the owner of Callahan Men’s shop in Roxbury and Jamaica Plain and worked hard to support his family. Paul’s presence made a lasting impact on the Jamaica Plain community and beyond. He loved spending time with family. He also loved gardening in the summer. He was an active volunteer for his parish, St. Thomas Aquinas, where he was the President/Treasurer of the St. Vincent De Paul Society. He was a recipient of The Cheverus Award, demonstrating his strong dedication of service to his parish. Paul was a loving, courageous, and giving person who put the needs of others before himself. His yearbook entry said his life goal was “to never grow old”.
Funeral from The Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St. West Roxbury on Friday April 10, at 9:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours in the funeral home Thursday April 9, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Interment Forest Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul’s memory to St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. U.S Army Veteran
