Pasqualina “Lena” Gobbi of West Roxbury passed away Saturday October 19th. Born and raised in East Boston, she was the loving daughter of the late Fernando and Carmella (Lento) Gobbi. Devoted mother of Maria (Gobbi) Bourque and her late husband John Bourque, and Edward Gobbi and his wife Kerry (Murphy) Gobbi. Caring grandmother of Courtney Bourque and her fiancé Michael Cronin, Meghan Gobbi, Elyse Gobbi, and Gabrielle Gobbi.
Cherished sister of Edward Gobbi and his late wife Kim Gobbi, Samuel Gobbi, the late Gaetano “Pudgie” Gobbi and his wife Mary, the late Joseph Gobbi and his wife Phyllis, the late Rita DiChiara and her husband Antonio DiChiara, the late Emma Alexander and her husband Cecil "Blacky” Alexander, Mary Moore, and the late Patricia Gobbi, Frank Gobbi and Judi Gobbi.
Dedicated “Aunt” or “Auntie” to many nieces, nephews, and friends.
At a young age, Lena’s life revolved around taking care of others - whether that was at home, at her job as a nurse’s aide, donating to multiple charities, or being a foster mother. She always had an open door policy and all were welcome. Lena thrived in the kitchen cooking homemade Italian dishes - never using a measuring cup, but only her hands and eyeballing her ingredients. She enjoyed saying the rosary, reading, watching her favorite old westerns, and cheering for any Boston sports team. Standing tall at an exceptional 4’11”, Lena was tough as nails with a heart of gold and had no problem speaking her mind.
She touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
