Michele Kelley Obituary

Michele Lee (Batchelder) Kelley

December 30, 1979 – June 28, 2021

Michele Lee (Batchelder) Kelley passed away unexpectedly on June 28, 2021, in her Fitchburg home at the age of 41.  She was the daughter of Denise (Cormier) Batchelder of Waltham and the late Lee Batchelder of Ashby. She was the sister of Mark Batchelder and his partner Cassandra Dutile of Litchfield, NH, the granddaughter of Marion and the late Francis Cormier of Waltham, and the granddaughter of the late Eleanor and Webster Batchelder of West Newton.  Michele is also survived by two sons, Caleb Kelley of Waltham and Tristan Kelley of Weymouth, who were the absolute loves of her life.

Additionally, she is survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Growing up in Townsend and Ashby, Michele graduated from North Middlesex Regional High School Class of 1998 and was a member of The National Honor Society. She strived to be a helpful citizen, was an active Girl Scout throughout all her school years and earned the Silver Award. She was recognized with a Citizenship Award at graduation.  Michele completed her formal education at UMass Amherst with a BBA in 2007, studying Tourism and Convention/Event Management.

Traveling (including studying abroad one year in Australia) and sharing experiences with people was Michele’s passion.  Martha’s Vineyard, the New England seacoast, and her friends there were extra special to her.  Work experience included sales representative at Viking River Cruises, travel consultant at Grand Circle Travel, manager/tour guide at Martha's Vineyard Sightseeing, and bus driver at UMass Transit Services.   Despite her wanderlust, the most important things in her life were family and friends.

A Celebration of Michele’s life will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Beth Eden Baptist Church – 84 Maple Street, Waltham. Burial will be at Mt Feake Cemetery, Waltham.  Michele’s godfather Reverend Robert “Woody” Woodland will officiate.  Arrangements being assisted by Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home in West Roxbury.
