McCARTHY, Marion Veronica (Naymie) Of Needham Heights and formerly Pompano Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025. Marion was born in the South End of Boston on May 18, 1931, to the late Mary and Thomas Naymie and was the beloved youngest sister of the late Margaret Zani, Frederick Naymie, Charles Naymie, and Raymond Naymie. Devoted wife of the late Charles A. McCarthy, Jr., and the loving mother of Karen M. Sullivan and her husband Mark of Medfield and Kevin C. McCarthy and his wife Mary Ann of Concord. Proud Grammie to Caitlin Sullivan, Lindsay (Sullivan) Magee, Ryan Sullivan, K.C. McCarthy, Caroline (McCarthy) Lane, and Carly (McCarthy) Lockwood, as well as twelve great-grandchildren.
Marion enjoyed a vibrant and active life full of faith, family, and friendships. She was a 65-year member of the Charles River Country Club in Newton and a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of the Cedars of Lebanon. An enthusiastic golf, tennis, and bridge player, Marion will be remembered for her loving presence, can-do spirit, life’s wisdom and quick wit.
Funeral services are private.
