Marion Frances Abell, 83, formerly from Braintree and now of The Villages, Florida, left us peacefully on August 19th following a battle with cancer.
Born on April 19, 1942, in Boston, Marion was the daughter of the late Alexander and Dorothy (Dana) Drysdale.
Marion married the love of her life, Ronald Abell, in 1963. They raised two children and ran many successful retail businesses together, including Elm Ski Shop and Ski Town USA. Marion will always be remembered for her great smile, her warmth, which made everyone feel loved and special. Marion enjoyed tennis, skiing, and later in life golf and pickleball with her many friends at the Villages.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald, her children, Arlene Iannella of Dedham, Ronald, Jr. of Quincy, her grandchildren, Victoria and Alexandra Iannella.
She is also survived by her sister, June Powers, and preceded in death by her sister Arlene Coppens.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 6, at 10:30 am at Saint Francis Church, 856 Washington Street, Braintree.
Preceding the service, calling hours will be held commencing at 10:00 am.
A reception will follow at the Braintree Yacht Club, 9 Gordon Road, Braintree at 12 noon.
