Ms. Marilyn R. Waters who was affectionately known as Ma, Gma, and Great Grandma by her loving family was born in Atlantic City, NJ on June 30, 1940 to her beloved parents Oliver Perry Shirk and Sabbertha Theresa Harrison (Shirk). She graduated from Atlantic City Public Schools. She relocated to Boston, MA in 1958. She was admired and very appreciated in the communities of Roxbury and Dorchester as well as her 15 year tenure as senior jewelry associate at Sears in Dedham, MA.
Marilyn was truly a people person and cared very much for their well-being. She was also multi-talented and kept busy with her many skills such as photography, sewing, crocheting, and deejaying at family parties. Her love of life and great sense of humor will be greatly missed by her beloved family and friends. She was a devoted Christian who enjoyed listening to gospel music and reading the bible that gave her great comfort throughout her life.
She is survived by her loving children: Yvette T. Waters, St. Clair M. Waters, Jr. and Loretta V. Waters, Suzzette Waters, and Charles Sterling

She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Karif Y. Osazuwa, Keroni A. Osazuwa, Khayriyah A. Osazuwa, Kharizma D. Osazuwa

Tanysia A. Waters, James Waters, and Marcus J. Waithe

And 7 great grandchildren.
Marilyn leaves to mourn her surviving siblings: Ronald Shirk, Richard Shirk, Howard Shirk, and Joanne Shirk
Preceded in death: Katherine Shirk and Raymond Shirk
Marilyn will be dearly missed by a host of family members and friends.
