Zaleskas, Margaret Virginia “Ginny” (Gibbons), daughter of Daniel and Mary (Doherty) of County Donegal, Ireland. Instilled with her parents’ strong work ethic and recognition of the value of education, Ginny grew up in Charlestown, and, with her beloved husband Edward, raised her own family in West Roxbury. A proud graduate of Boston State College and the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Ginny loved being a teacher, and in 1967 was among the first women to teach at Boston Latin School. Ginny taught mathematics at UMass-Boston from 1979 to 2016, although by far her greatest accomplishments were raising six children and dedicating her life to the care of, and constant advocacy for, her loved ones. Ginny is survived by her loving children, Kristine, Virginia (Kelly), Kara, Janice (Patel) and John; by her grandsons Kiernan and Ronan Patel; by her siblings John, Donald and Janice (Lewis); and by numerous nieces and nephews. Ginny is predeceased by her husband Edward, her beloved daughter Donna, and her siblings Ann and Frank Gibbons.
