Kenneth Marchand Obituary

Kenneth R. Marchand

September 25, 1944 – August 30, 2024

Kenneth R. Marchand, a cherished member of the Fall River, MA community, passed away at the West Roxbury VA Hospital on August 30, 2024, at the age of 79.

Born and raised in Fall River, Kenneth was a lifelong resident known for his warmth, generosity, and gregarious spirit. He was a proud veteran of the Army, having served during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Korea. Kenneth’s dedication and service were a testament to his character and love for his country.

Kenneth had a diverse and fulfilling career. He began as the Head Draftsman at ITT Grinnell Corp and later managed several Cumberland Farms locations, where he was known for his dedication and leadership. His passion for motorcycles was well known; he was an avid rider of his Harley Electra Glide and a former member of the New England Vikings motorcycle club. When he wasn’t on two wheels, Kenneth enjoyed cruising in his beloved 1964 Thunderbird or 1964 Chevy Malibu with his loyal dog, Apache.

Kenneth was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary (Matoes) Marchand. He is survived by his brother Robert Marchand and his wife Peggy, as well as his niece, several nephews, and close friends including Cathy LaPlante, John D. Smith, Shaun LaPlante, and his wife Alicia.

Kenneth will be remembered for his readiness to help others, and his enduring friendship. He will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

At a later date there will be an internment of Kenneth's ashes, with military honors, at the Massachusetts National Cemetery located in Bourne, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Veterans Association of Bristol County in Fall River, https://thevabc.org/ in Kenneth’s honor.
