Judith Benmosche Obituary

The world lost a beloved soul, Judith Belle Benmosche, on November 13th, 2020. Judith, AKA “Lady B,” was a lover, a fighter, a resilient and determined leader, a mother, a key piece of the fabric of the West Roxbury community and a pure light to all who met her. She was tough on the exterior, but when you got to know her, she had the biggest heart in the world. Judith was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 25th, 1942. She was raised by her loving parents, Lillian and Daniel Benmosche.

Judith worked as a probation officer and served her community for over 30 years. Upon retirement, she dared to create her own world, The Reliable Trading Post, which provided a fun, engaging, and one-of-a-kind experience to customers.

As Judith puts it, "Everybody talks about the good old days, but Lady B did something about it." Thus, the Reliable Trading Post is the purveyor of a unique variety of stunning antiques and vintage items that range from quirky to lovely; the only rule here is that all items in the shop must be items that could have existed in the 1800s. She took the upmost pride in her store and serving her community with all her heart.

Her favorite poem in the world, Invictus, by William Ernest Henley “I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.” speaks to her unconquerable and fierce spirit.

Judith is survived by her brother Michael and her sister Jayne Benmosche along with her son, Daniel Benmosche and the daughter she never had, Pamela Bardhi.

Friends and family are invited to say a final goodbye to Judith at a graveside service at The Gardens Cemetery on 670 Baker Street in West Roxbury on November 27th, 2020 at 1 pm.
