Joseph J. Kennedy of Randolph, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024, at the age of 68. Beloved husband of the late Laura (Hurwitz) Kennedy. Brother of John Kennedy of West Roxbury, George Kennedy and his wife Sandra of Plymouth. He also leaves behind his 3 nieces, Denise (Kennedy) Buck, Ganine Kennedy, Lisa (Kennedy) Cormier and 1 nephew, Bryan Kennedy.
Born in Boston, MA on September 30, 1955, son of the late Joseph and Emma (Cataldo) Kennedy. Joseph grew up in Hyde Park and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School class of 1973. He went on to serve 3 years with the US Army as a Military Police Officer. While serving his country, he received the Army Service Ribbon and the Overseas Service Ribbon for time spent in Germany. Soon after leaving the Military, Joseph started his 30 plus year career with the MBTA as a Trolley Operator on the Historic Mattapan to Ashmont Highspeed Line.
He was an avid fan of the Rolling Stones and was fortunate enough to see them perform at their 50th Anniversary tour in Boston, MA. He also enjoying listening to the music of many other Classic Rock bands. Joseph will be remembered by his infectious smile and jolly laugh.
A private burial will take place in November.
