John W Carlson

John W. Carlson of Bedford, MA, beloved Son of Anton and Margaret Carlson (Grealish), died peacefully on Saturday May 22, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. John is survived by his wife Carol Moore Carlson and children Robert R. Carlson & his wife Lindsay of Haverhill, MA and Laura C. Miller & her husband Carl of Townsend, MA, and grandchildren Amanda, Patrick, Remington, Duncan, Bethi and Brittani; siblings Elizabeth Danner (William), David Carlson (Joan), Rev. George Carlson, and Irene Moore (Richard), and many adoring nieces and nephews. He also will be missed by long-time friends Jack and Karen Schroeder of Feeding Hills, MA who were more like family. Predeceased by his parents Anton Carlson and Margaret Grealish Carlson, parent’s in-law Winfield and Barbara Moore, brother’s in-law Richard Moore and William Danner. John was born in Boston to Anton and Margaret Grealish Carlson and grew up in Allston.  He graduated Boston College, and raised his family in Bedford, MA.  He was highly regarded at and took pride in his position as CFO/Treasurer with the Goldhirsh Group who published Sail Magazine, High Technology and Inc. Magazine.  Some things about John; our Husband, Dad, Papa, Brother, Uncle and friend:  He loved Skating at the Skating Club in Boston then at Belisle in Bedford, bowling, playing Chess and challenging himself with Sudoku in his later years.  He enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow and spending time with them.  John judged no one by their cover.  He was trustworthy, respectable, honest and generous.  When you hear the phrase “they don’t make ‘em like that anymore”, you can think of John.  A memorial luncheon will be held Saturday June 12, 2021 from 2-6 pm in the upstairs hall at The American Legion Post 221, 357 The Great Road, Bedford, MA for family and friends.
