John Rodeghiero Obituary

Through an ice cream shop window, John Scott Rodeghiero’s life unfolds,
A sundae symphony, his story told.
Each moment a flavor, rich and sweet,
In the parlors of memories, his essence we greet.

Starting with a scoop of humble delight,
Born May 7th, 1942, in Lockport's pure light.
Parents, Tom and Jane, a foundational cone,
Sisters Alice Roskens and Faye Ehm, a family's love shown.

Beloved Illini alum, a dish of Champaign-Urbana’s finest blend,
A taste of knowledge, his brilliant mind rich transcend.
A self-made businessman, success with depositions came with grace,
Masterful tales of storytelling, a savory embrace.

His flavor, “Renaissance Ripple”, a savant so grand,
Charm and wit swirled, a magical hand.
Literary sprinkles, words spun with glee,
His personality, a unique, quirky concoction, vibrant and free.

Cubs' victory cherry, a jubilant 2016 surprise,
A sprinkle of pride in beloved daughter, Aislynn Rodeghiero-Rapciak’s rise.
Driveway HORSE games and Geometry homework help, each moment sweet.

A shared passion for sports, a bond so complete.

“Bye Bye Miss American Pie" favorite lyrics resound.
Driving the Chevy to the levee the day the music died, profound.

"Mind the gap," a pithy phrase dearly held,
Collector of newspaper clippings, stories swelled and compelled.

A dedicated “Meals on Wheels” volunteer, with kindness quite profound,
Countless bonds of friendship, unconditional toppings abound.
A deep commitment to faith, a heavenly embrace,
Mentorship’s sweet swirl, Biblical grace interlace.

From vanilla beginnings to a ripple of zest,
A sprinkle of joy in every quest.

In the ice cream parlor of remembrances so tender,
Scott's chocolate ripple life, a flavor forever.

In honor of Scott’s life, a service on August 3rd  at 11:00 am followed by an ice cream social (The Fellowship, 604 Foundry Street, South Easton, MA) we’ll abide,
