John Regan Obituary

John P. “Jack” Regan, of Medway and formerly of West Roxbury, passed away at age 82 on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, with his siblings by his side. He was the beloved son of the late Frank M. and Mary Mellett Regan of West Roxbury; the loving brother of Robert P. Regan of Norwood, Mary Fiorenza and her husband Edward of Norwood, the late Frank Regan and his surviving wife Betty, and the late Gerald Regan. Jack is also survived by many cousins that he grew up with, his nieces Suzy Mosley of Somerset, MA and Julie Fiorenza of Queens, NY, and his nephews Michael Regan of Rowley, MA and Michael Fiorenza of Franklin, MA.

A Boston College High School graduate, he pursued acting as his first love, attending Leland Powers and B.U.’s MFA Theatre program and proceeded to act and direct in local and regional theatre. Jack was a trained chef, working in several restaurants until he opened his own, The Wild Brunch, on Centre St. in West Roxbury.

For the last chapter of his working life, Jack completed Northeastern University’s Health Management in Medical Records Program. He then worked in major Boston hospitals before finishing at the VA Hospital in Providence, RI.

Jack loved his family. Although he didn’t have children of his own, he loved being present for milestones in his nieces and nephews’ lives - graduations, football games, dance recitals - especially during their formative years. He equally enjoyed spending more mundane moments with a young Julie and Michael, playing video games, cooking, training his Bullmastiff, Buck, and making them laugh with his offbeat sense of humor that was beyond their years. Jack was a true performer, a lover of stories that he could immerse himself in, and he always had a joke or impersonation handy.

Visiting hour will be Tuesday, January 21, from 8:30-9:30 am at The Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre Street, West Roxbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. John Chrysostom Church, 4750 Washington Street, West Roxbury, followed by interment at St. Joseph Cemetery. We invite all who knew and loved Jack to join us in a celebration of his life at Waterfords in Dedham.

In lieu of flowers, consider donating to Natick Walpole Visiting Nurses Association in Jack's memory.
