Jan Marie Jacobs, of Hyde Park, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, at the age of 55, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving and supportive family.
Jan was the cherished mother of Joseph MacKinnon of Walpole, the beloved daughter of Jackie (Maffei) Jacobs and the late Allan Jacobs, and the devoted sister of Lisa Jacobs of Danvers, Marcy Eastman of Mansfield, Kara Jacobs of Dedham, and Rachel Jacobs of Randolph. She is also survived by her adored nieces, Diana and Jaclyn Eastman; her aunt, Linda Maffei; her cousins, Marilynn, Jillian, and Jessica Demaray; and her stepmother, Helene Jacobs of Raynham. Jan shared a deep bond with her dear companion, Ed Geller of Wareham, and held close friendships with Glen Matthews of Westwood, Paul Vigeant of West Roxbury, and Lauren MacEachern of West Roxbury.
Jan had a remarkable connection with animals, who gravitated to her gentle spirit and compassionate nature. She loved them all—every size, shape, and kind—and they loved her in return.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jan’s memory to the Massachusetts Humane Society or Make- A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island
