JAMES EDWARD AMIDON of Roslindale
Preceded in Death by his mother, Mary P. (Walsh), father, John F. Amidon a sister, Rachel Amidon and brother, Danny Weaver. He is survived by his two children, Kayla and Jenna Amidon, his former spouse; Stacy (Pulice), his faithful companion BO and a host of extended family including his cousin Regina Aries with whom he resided. .
Jim grew up in Middletown, RI. Anyone that met Jimmy knew right away that he was a character. He loved to tell storis about things he was enthusiastic about. Jim’s first job was working as a barback at Tom’s Bar, Jim worked every day for “a pickle and a hardboiled egg”. As Jim got older, he joined his bother Danny, working in the Newport Restaurant scene. It was during his time, that Jim became a great short order cook.
Jim truly loved his pets, most of whom were named “Tinker” or “Cash”.
Jim attended Middletown High in Middletown, RI where he was very athletic and excelled at running and cycling. After high school. Jim served his country by enlisting in the Army National Guard.
After the National Guard, Jim pursued his love of cars by becoming an auto mechanic. This allowed him to be around his favorite cars, especially FORD automobiles over all other auto manufacturers.
Jim will be remembered fondly by those who loved him and the memories that were made on camping trips with his children and former wife will always be cherished.
Jim experienced a great amount of loss in his life but still had a smile on his face for every person he met. He made a choice to be happy everyday.
Visitation will be held at the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St., West Roxbury, on Thursday, January 2, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 1:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
