George J. Vysotsky passed away at home peacefully, surrounded by family on June 16, 2024. George was born in Kharkov, Ukraine. He earned his PhD in Computer Science in Moscow, Russia, where he spearheaded the project of voice recognition, which now touches everyone’s lives. After emigrating from the USSR to New York in 1981, George continued to advance research in voice recognition at IBM and NYNEX.
Aside from his monumental accomplishments in the field of computer science, he will be most remembered by his friends and family as a kind-hearted, considerate, bright man with tremendous courage. His love and devotion for his wife Katherine Vysotsky was so great, that her passing in 2022 took a toll on his health. George is survived by his daughter Tanya Vysotsky and grandchildren Adrian and Alexandra Clerc.
Services and Interment on June 21 at 1 pm at The Gardens at Gethsemane Cemetery, 670 Baker St, West Roxbury.
