We remember and honor the life of Gabriel “Gabe” Gobbi of Boston, who passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Born and raised in Boston, Gabriel was the beloved son of Michelle Gobbi and the cherished grandson of the late Patricia Gobbi. He was a loving brother to Glenroy Miller and David Shields, and to David’s partner, KaiJana Tyson, all of Boston. Gabriel was a devoted and proud uncle to Arieya Shields, Davoin, Rafael Balan, Jaline Gooden, and Ra Soto. He was the dear nephew of Nicole Gobbi, James Gobbi, and the late Lena Gobbi.
Gabriel was a student at TechBoston Academy and a dedicated athlete who played for his high school team as well as the Pop Warner Roxbury Titans. His future was bright and full of promise. He dreamed of one day playing in the NFL and approached life with the passion, ambition, and optimism of a young man who believed deeply in what lay ahead.
Like many teenagers, Gabriel loved video games, good food, basketball, and football, and he also carried a quiet passion for art. Family meant everything to him, and he shared deep and meaningful bonds with those he loved. Though Gabriel’s life was far too short, his impact was immeasurable. He was everything one could hope for in a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend, and a young man.
Gabriel will be remembered for his infectious smile, gentle heart, and genuine spirit. He was born and raised in Boston and grew up in the Mission Park community, where he became a familiar, bright presence and was deeply loved. He will be forever missed by his family, friends, and the many people whose lives he touched.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Theresa of Avila Church, 2078 Centre St. West Roxbury on Friday January 16, at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours in the Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St. West Roxbury on Thursday January 15, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Interment St. Michael Cemetery.
