Frank L. Skelton of Jamaica Plain, formerly of Cuba
It is with great sadness that the family of Frank L. Skelton, age 93 of Jamaica Plain, MA, announces his passing on June 1, 2022 at Boston Medical Center after a long battle with Kidney Disease and aspirating while in hospital care.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years Milagros Skelton, his daughters Mabel Skelton, Odalis Beaupre, and Lily Skelton, son Francisco Skelton, brother Leonard Skelton, grandchildren Yasmin Morales, Amanda and Melissa Beaupre, Geraldo and Gabriel Skelton, Deylan Elias, Francisco and Giovanni Matos, nieces, nephews and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by six siblings, including his close sister and brother-in-law Aldeen and Milton Lewis, brother and sister-in-law Alfredo and Melba Skelton, as well as grandson Oscar Skelton.
Frank was a native of Cuba who proudly immigrated to the United States with his family. His earlier career was as a firefighter at the American Naval Base in Guantanamo, Cuba. He was also a fine sandal maker. Following his immigration, he rebuilt his life in Boston and became a successful small business owner, opening Milagros’ Auto Body named after his wife.
Frank loved life, dancing, traveling, the Yankees, and most of all, caring and spending time with his family and friends. His outgoing personality, loving, and caring nature will be sorely missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Lourdes Church 14 Montebello Rd., Jamaica Plain, on Saturday, June 11, at 10:00am. Visiting hours will be held in the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home on Friday, June 10, from 5:00 to 8:00pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park.
