Our beloved father and grandfather, Eldar Aliev, of Lexington, Massachusetts formerly of Baku, Azerbaijan, passed away at age 69 on November 18, 2023, surrounded by family and friends after a battle with cancer. We lost a dear and magnificent man. He had achieved a PhD in Chemistry and with his natural teaching talent, could explain complex chemistry concepts to students with the ease of a simple fairytale. To provide for his family in tough economic circumstances amidst the dissolution of the Soviet Union, he went on to earn a Master’s degree in accounting and audit which he loved and successfully applied for decades. His relentless curiosity and insatiable thirst for knowledge led him to study a myriad of books on topics ranging from practical electronics to the world’s religions and history. His encyclopedic knowledge and analytics made him a fascinating companion, a source of wisdom and a desired yet humble mentor for many. Eldar was a devoted and caring father and grandfather as well as a most generous and supportive friend. His abundant kindness and selflessness left people in awe and he will be utterly missed.
We will gather on Sunday, November 26, between 2:00 and 4:00 PM at 30 Lillian Road in Lexington to celebrate Eldar’s life, share our favorite memories and honor his great legacy. All are welcome.
