Edward W. Ziegler, age 97, passed away peacefully at Sabal Palms Assisted Living Facility located in Largo, FL on 4/27/24.
He was the devoted Husband of Jeannette Ziegler.
They shared 74 yrs. together, raising 2 daughters in Natick, Wellesley and Cape Cod.
Ed began his career serving 18 months in the US Coast Guard.
After the Coast Guard, he worked as a hairdresser and eventually established his own business, Capris Hair Salon.
Later in life Ed was employed by Construction Specialties located in Randolph, MA.
Ed was a dedicated father who encouraged his two daughters Laurene and Paula to pursue their aspirations and dreams.
Ed was proud to see his daughters obtain their PhDs and pursue rewarding careers.
He loved to work with his hands and with them, helped make the world a better place.
He became a skilled woodworker, creating carvings of Love Spoons and birds, all given to friends and family.
A skilled handyman, he also spent much of his time helping friends and neighbors with home repair projects.
Ed also enjoyed Ballroom dancing, sailing, playing pool, traveling and his faithful pup Sebastian.
In later years Ed and Jeannette became “Snowbirds”, spending summers Cape Cod and winters in Clearwater Florida.
Ed is survived by his Children- Paula and Laurene and his wife Jeannette.
A graveside service with Coast Guard Honors will be held on Thursday May 16, at 10:30 am in the Garden's Cemetery, 670 Baker St. West Roxbury. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
