Charles Higgins Obituary

Charles Higgins of Bedford, passed away on January 13, 2021.

Charles was born in Boston. the son of the late Lawrence J. And Virginia Higgins.

He is survived by three children.  Nancy Cummins, Noreen Butchard and Richard Higgins. Grandfather of Matthew and Caitlyn Butchard and Leah and Sean Cummins.

Charlie was predeceased by six brothers, Lawrence, James, George, Thomas, Robert and Paul Higgins. He was also predeceased by 2 sisters, Virginia Higgins Lewis and Mary Higgins Giannattasio.

He is survived by 2 sisters.  Barbara Mooney and Sheila Ciampi.

Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam era.  He resided his last years at the Bedford VA facility where he was loved and well cared for.

Charlie was an entertainer in his early years.  He was blessed with a great voice and not only shared with others but encouraged others to use theirs.  He loved to play scrabble, go to Bingo games but especially to have fun.  He always got a party going. 

Songs and laughter were not far if Charlie was around.

He was kind and very generous with all he had. 

There will be a graveside service at a later date at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Roxbury.
