Cathyann Hansen passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Saturday, October 25, 2025. For over 25 years, she pursued her passion for caring for others as a CNA in the Boston area. With her experience in healthcare and about fifteen years of that at Waterstone, Cathyann found joy and pleasure in her work there. She took the utmost concern in providing the best care, sharing witty banter, and making lasting friendships with everyone, colleagues, and patients alike.
She enjoyed gardening, going for walks, reading, horses, her cat Biscuit, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. It never mattered how many hours she worked that week; she would fit in get-togethers into her schedule. Always showing up for those who mattered most to her.
Her passion and drive for hard work are admired. She never gave up on anything or anyone. Always going above and beyond.
She was predeceased by her beloved mother, Catherine and Father John Herlihy, and her uncle Paul Hutchinson. Cathyann is survived by her two brothers, John Herlihy of FL, and Jamie Herlihy of CT; her son, Sean Hansen of FL, and daughters, Meghan Hansen of MA, and Rebecca Rogers of MA. She leaves behind one grandchild, Catherine, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, and aunts.
She will be missed dearly, and her legacy will live on.
In lieu of flowers, please help us keep Cathyann Hansen’s story alive by donating to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, where her world class doctors and nurses kept her as their main focus.
