Catherine M. Walsh, 98, West Roxbury, passed away after a long illness on September 17, 2021. She was a resident at the Brush Hill Care Center in Milton.
Catherine was born in 1923 on Upton Street in the South End of Boston to Catherine and Michael Walsh. She had one older brother, Thomas Edward. Together, they explored the neighborhood, made friends, rode the pony, and fed their canary one Hershey Kiss each night. She is survived by nieces Katherine Morvay and Dorothy Walsh Haviland, and William Haviland.
After graduation from Girls High School, she went to work at the First National Bank of Boston, where she remained until her retirement.
A longtime resident of West Roxbury and Marina Bay, she enjoyed the single life, travelling, swimming, sunbathing and the occasional round of golf. Known for her sewing skills, she kept an immaculate home. Woe to the person who mussed up the bathroom!
Visitation will be from 8:30 – 9:30 am on Friday, September 24, 2021 at The Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre Street, West Roxbury, to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Theresa of Avila Church at 10:00 am. Interment is at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Greater Boston Food Bank or Planned Parenthood.
