CALLIONTZIS, Betty (Anagnos) of Dedham, passed away on March 29, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Constintine P. Calliontzis. Devoted mother of Elaine Calliontzis Lacey and her late husband Christopher of Rockland, Christine Sullivan and her husband David of Canton, Peter Calliontzis of Dedham, and Paul Calliontzis of Wrentham. Loving grandmother of Zachary Lacey and his fiancé Madeleine Ker, Lauren Strickler and her husband Matthew, Tracey Pellows and her husband Bennet, Brian Sullivan, Justin Calliontzis and Darcey Burke, Kyle Calliontzis and his wife Danielle, Jacob Calliontzis and Erica Benavides, and Nicole Calliontzis. Great grandmother of Kyle Calliontzis, Audrey Pellows, John and Emily Strickler. Also, survived by many nieces and nephews.
Betty and her husband, Connie were married for over 73 years and met as children in Dorchester. Betty attended secretarial school after graduating high school and worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mass. in the computer area, prior to raising her 4 children.
Betty always said she was born before her time. As a young girl, she was interested in going to a 4 year college and traveling the world. Things young women born in the 1930's were discouraged from doing. But she did those things despite what others thought or social convention. She traveled the world with Connie and her children, visiting Greece, Russia and many Caribbean Islands to name a few and took many, many cruises with her husband. She also loved the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. Big Papi, David Ortiz was her favorite baseball player.
While her children were young, she worked in many roles for a local newspaper till she retired as a District Manager in her late 70's.
Betty loved Cape Cod and spent many summers in the Yarmouth area at the beach, sailing with her husband and sightseeing.
Betty had a beautiful voice and sang in the church choir for many years. She and Connie were very involved with the Greek Orthodox Cathedral and spent hours volunteering. Betty was also involved in the Boston Chapter of the Daughters of Penelope and served as President for many years. She inducted and sponsored her daughter, Elaine into the chapter. She and Connie attended many events for the organizations they were involved in.
Betty was devastated last April, when her husband passed away very unexpectedly at home. She never recovered from that loss and is now reunited with her best friend in heaven.
