Allan K. Atwell “Al”, of Framingham, originally of Kentville, Nova Scotia has passed on to the other side on July 3rd, 2024 at age 76. He was born in Kentville on April 30, 1948 to the late Austin Atwell and Willamina Atwell (McCay).
Allan was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked for many years as an auto mechanic and later for Natick Labs in the prototype fabrication shop as a sheet metal fabricator.
Allan enjoyed working on his own cars and really loved to take on projects that involved working with his hands and his vast collection of tools. A lot of times you would find him over at his firewood pile cutting logs with his chainsaw and splitting wood by hand with axe and maul, always preparing for the winter ahead. His work ethic made an impression on those close to him and he took pride in being able to provide for himself and his family. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and being outdoors and shared these times with his friends and family. Football season was an exciting time for Allan and he would never miss a Patriots game, Sunday was game day.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Atwell “Barbarita” of Framingham, and son Justin Atwell and his Fiance Lauren Zompetti of Framingham, step daughter Lindsay Kobiti of Texas and step son Scott O’Connor of Maryland. Brother of Phyllis Curtis and her husband Jack Curtis of Wyoming and the late Margaret Dmytryck of Bourne, MA and late Ronald Atwell of Nova Scotia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as four step grandchildren.
A Military Honors Funeral will be held on August 1 at 12:30 PM at the Massachusetts National cemetery in Bourne, MA.
