Rev. Wilfred A. Brimley, CSP

Paulist Father Wilfred A. Brimley died on May 5, 2020. Born in New Bedford, MA on July 19, 1927, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force; was a graduate of Harvard University; and worked for the Central Intelligence Agency prior to joining the Paulist Fathers in 1955. Ordained on May 11, 1962, Fr. Bill served as an assistant pastor at Good Shepherd parish (Upper Manhattan, NY) and on the Paulist Mission Band, based in Minneapolis MN, immediately after the 2nd Vatican Council. As a pastor, Fr. Bill served at Old St. Mary's parish (South Loop, Chicago, IL); St. Andrew parish in Clemson SC wherehe mentored many young Paulists in their early days of ordained ministry; and Immaculate Conception parish in Knoxville TN.Though he retired in 1995, Fr. Bill continued to assist in many Paulist parishes. In 2002, he returned to Boston and became a resident of the Paulist community at the Paulist Center. In 2017, he became a resident at Marian Manor. Predeceased by his parents; his brother, John; and sister, Betty; Fr. Bill is survived by his brother Paulists and a niece, Beth Tunno.
