Warren Howard “Skippy” Buckman

October 28, 1932 – October 20, 2026

Warren Howard Buckman, known as “Skip” to his friends and “Grumps” to his grandchildren, passed away on October 20, 2026, just eight days before his 94th birthday. Born and raised in Walpole, Massachusetts, Skip remained proud of his hometown throughout his life.

He was the son of the late Herbert L. Buckman and the late Rena S. Michaud Buckman, and the brother of the late Herbert, Robert, and Charles Buckman.

As a young man, Skip attended school in Walpole, graduated in 1951, played football, and became captain of his high school team. He was passionate about sports and briefly attended college before family circumstances led him in another direction. In 1953, he was drafted into the United States Army, where he served for two years with the Army Engineers. He was proud of his military service and the many life lessons he learned during that time.

Skip married his beloved wife, Janet Lamore, his high school sweetheart. Together, they shared 62 years of marriage and raised their children on Common Street in Walpole, creating a busy home, filled with love, laughter, patience, and plenty of noise.

Skip made his career in masonry and construction, a field that became his lifelong passion. He eventually established Construction General. He loved working and took tremendous pride in his accomplishments..

Above all, Skip believed that family meant everything. His family will remember him for his great humor, and his way of making everyone feel like family.

He valued staying connected, sharing the lessons he had learned, he loved to share a good story but most important was keeping his family close. He treasured family gatherings filled with conversation, laughter, and the beautiful chaos of a large family.

Skip was the proud father of the late Bruce Buckman; Carol Keyes and her husband, Harry; Thomas Buckman and his wife, Elena; Patti McGuinness and her late husband, Edward; Scott Buckman and his wife, Jill; Michael Buckman and his partner, Barbara; Renee McVeigh and her husband, John; Mark Buckman; and the late Eric Buckman survived by his wife, Kim.

He was blessed with 21 grandchildren: Kris, Vannessa, Tim, Tyler, Mike, Joe C., Joe M., Grace, Jake, Laura, Ava, Kurt, Ashley, Deidra, Mona, Jeff, Jill, Danielle, Stephen, Jamey, and Jessey. To his grandchildren, he was lovingly known as “Grumps,” a special name that will forever hold a place in their hearts.

His eight great-grandchildren are Axel, George, Chandler, Aiden, Riley, Caleb, Michael, and

Mikayla. Skip’s love for his family will live on through these generations, each carrying forward a

part of his story and legacy.

He also leaves behind his Aunt Edna Buckman Buckley, along with many cousins, nieces, and

nephews.

Skip leaves behind a legacy of hard work, determination, honesty, and devotion to family. His

greatest legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be

deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and close friends.

Thank you to the VA and all the dedicated care givers. Special thanks to Kristen Ferris for her

devotion and love.
