Thomas Burns, 58, formerly of Holbrook passed away accidentally on July 17th, 2019. Tom graduated from Holbrook Highschool in 1978 and joined the Army as a Green Beret, then later served as a member of The National Guard. Tom is survived by his daughter, Jessica Burns of Quincy, his son, Mathew Collier of Bridgewater, his former wife and lifelong friend, Jean Sullivan of Bridgewater, his parents, Frank and Mary Burns of Holbrook, his sister, Ellen Burns of Abington, and brother to the late Frankie and Bill Burns. Tom was a proud veteran who enjoyed working with those who had also previously served, reading, golfing, fishing, and other sporting events. His zest for life and compassionate spirit made an imprint on everyone he met. He will be sorely missed by everyone who had the pleasure of crossing his path. Services are going to be held privately at Bourne National Cemetery, and in lieu of flowers, his family asks that you remember Tom with a donation to either the Wounded Warrior Project or the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans.
