Therese Anne
(Brady) Lydon
July 2, 1930 – June 20, 2023
Therese "Anne" (Brady) Lydon, 92, of West Roxbury MA, entered into eternal life on June 20th, 2023. The beloved wife of the late Paul A Lydon for 64 years, Anne grew up on the Arborway in Jamaica Plain, MA, the daughter of the late Mary E (Cain) and Bernard F Brady. After attending Saint Thomas Aquinas elementary school and Girls Latin Academy, Anne graduated from Framingham State College and received her Masters in Education from Boston State College. A lifelong lover of education, Anne taught elementary school in Dedham and later at Boston College High School. After receiving her 2nd Masters in Theological Studies from Boston College, Anne taught at Notre Dame Academy in Hingham, becoming head of the Religious Education department there. Anne is survived by her two sons, Paul S Lydon of Reykjavik, Iceland and David T Lydon and his wife Dr. Sung Lydon of Mission Viejo, CA. She is also survived by her beloved granddaughter Kinnat S Lydon of Leipzig, Germany, and many nieces and nephews: Mary (Dehler) McCusker of Franklin, Francis B Dehler of Cape Neddick, Maine, Christopher Lydon, Gregory Lydon of Blackstone, Corinne (Lydon) Johnson of Nashville TN, Andrew Lydon of Snowmass CO, Elaine M Gazerro of Norwood, Lee A Cantwell of Wrentham, Joanne L Bethoney of Medfield, and Timothy P Cantwell and Jill E Bowen of Walpole. Anne was the sister of the late Thomas A Brady, Bernard F Brady and Esther (Brady) Dehler, all of Jamaica Plain MA. Both Anne and her husband Paul loved to travel, making numerous visits to Europe, especially to Iceland as their granddaughter was growing up there. They also enjoyed visiting Hawaii, and Anne made a special pilgrimage to Israel with a group from the Roman Catholic Cenacle in Brighton, MA. Anne was an avid reader and enjoyed playing the piano, having taken lessons at the Boston Conservatory of Music. Anne and her sister Esther enjoyed spending many summers together over the years with their families in York, Maine. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert J Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre Street, West Roxbury, MA. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, July 30th between the hours of 2 and 5 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday July 31st at Saint Theresa of Avila Church, 2078 Centre Street, West Roxbury, MA, followed by interment at Saint Joseph Cemetery, 990 LaGrange Street, West Roxbury, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
