Obituary

Russell Gordon Manson, 64, of Foxboro, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly at home on April 10th, 2023.

He was born in Norwood, MA on January 30th, 1959. Russ was the son of the late Gordon Manson of Boston, MA and the late Eleanor Manson of Boston, MA. Russell grew up in Dedham, MA and graduated from Dedham High School in 1977.

In his early working years as a service technician, he traveled the United States, reaching almost all fifty states in the span of his career.

Russell spent 34 years as a beloved husband and best friend to Mitzi. Together they spent their time traveling and exploring New England. They enjoyed many activities, such as four wheeling, boating, and fishing. He was a devoted father to Michael, Samantha, Emily, and Kyle and loving Grampy to Veda Marie and Eleanor May.

Russell took pride in making his house a home by completing various projects. His favorite days were spent at home watching the Bruins and Patriots with his family, along with other western shows and movies.

Some of his favorite activities were watching Yellowstone with his wife and going down to Peking Garden to enjoy some scorpion bowls with their friends. He cherished bringing his family down to their seasonal campsite at Bowdish Lake in Rhode Island. In later years, Russ enjoyed vacationing with his wife down the Cape and using their beach permit to drive on Sandy Neck Beach.

In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Russ is also survived by his brother Wayne Manson and wife Kathy Manson of Walpole, brother Scott Manson and his wife Kathy Manson of Walpole, and his sister Lynn Haven of New Bedford.

He touched the lives of many and will never be forgotten.

A private service will be held for immediate family. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date for those friends and family who wish to honor Russell. For those wishing to send the family an expression of sympathy, please send deliveries to Gethsemane Cemetery at 670 Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA 02132 by Saturday, April 15th.
