Obituary

Rose Wright passed away on April 17, 2020 at the age of 77, after succumbing to complications from a decades-long battle with systemic lupus.  She was born August 4, 1942 in Tewksbury, MA to Louis and Mary Wright and was raised as a catholic in Boston, mostly by her beloved grandmother Mary (Pina) Fountaine. She married Arthur D. Bright, Jr. at a young age and they had five children.Rose was such a beautiful lady with grit and intelligence and so much love for her family and close friends. She brightened a room while taking up very little space. She had pithy and funny remarks that did not call attention to herself. She had gentle opinions that she was not at all hesitant to voice. Rose had a youthful spirit. Yet, with so much grace, she endured chronic illness and pain for many years and without complaint. She embraced all and will be fondly and forever missed by so many. Rose was preceded in death by her parents and grandmother, her half-brother Michael Pina, and her grandson Jaquan Majeed.  She is survived by the father of her five children, Arthur Bright, Jr. and her  children: Sharon Bright, Cheryl Bright, Donna Bright (life partner Charles), Arthur Bright, III (wife Cathy), and David Bright (wife Karen); her grandchildren: Chad Bright Reason (wife LaShauna), Sherrod Bright, Corey Bright, Ahmad Bright, Kamaal Majeed, Kaylah Majeed, Caeden Bright, Arthur Njenga Bright and David Kiruthi Bright; and her great-granddaughters Nayah, Nikita and Zania Bright Reason, and Lynajah and Treasure Bright. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Mary Reed, her grand-daughters in-law, and her nieces and nephews and cousins and a handful of very dear friends. A wake and funeral service will be held at Robert J. Lawler & Crosby funeral home for the immediate family and invited guests only, due to social distancing requirements. The funeral will be live streamed beginning Saturday, 4/25/20 at 11am.  Details will be sent to family and friends.  As soon as it is safe to have large gatherings, the family will hold a Celebration of Life ceremony to honor Rose, a phenomenal woman indeed. In lieu of flowers and other contributions, the family would be grateful to receive donations for the Lupus Foundation New England.
