Day, Rita E. (Sherman) of West Roxbury, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2022 at the age of 91.  Rita loved shopping for bargains, trying her luck at the casinos, listening to her favorite music and gardening in her backyard but she was happiest when surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife of the late William M. Day and devoted mother of William M. (Mike) Day of West Roxbury, Wayne A. Day and his wife Nancy of Walpole, Tracy D. Shea and her husband Brian of Norton and the late Glenn E. Day.  Sister of the late Helen Kammer, Robert Sherman, Esther Kallenberg, Marie Butler, William Sherman, Lillian Pernock, Marguerite Foley and John Sherman.  She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Courtney, Kevin, Calie, Sydney, William and Madie and 3 great-grandchildren, Caroline, Norah and Libby.

Rita's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 28th at 10:00 a.m., Holy Name Church, 1689 Centre St, West Roxbury.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.  Interment will follow at The Gardens at Gethsemane Cemetery, West Roxbury.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Rita's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the charity of your choice.
