Obituary

Richard Ralph Diaz, 73, of Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA, passed on April 26, 2020, after a valiant battle with COVID-19.

Richard was born on August 31, 1946, graduated from Winthrop High School in 1966 and served in the US Navy in the Vietnam War.  He worked for many years and in various positions with Delta Airlines. Prior to moving to Bountiful, Utah in 1981, Richard enjoyed his daily trips to Samuel's Pharmacy to catch up on town news and shoot the breeze with his buddies over a cup of coffee.

Richard was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Virginia Diaz, his wife of 41 years, Nany Diaz and two of his children, David, 41, and Suzanne Inez, 6.  He is survived by his daughter, Lesli, four grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Raven and Wolfram, two sisters, Rose and Ruth, two brothers, Robert and Ramon, three nieces, Alexis, Marissa and Darcy and three nephews, Zach, Bo, and Michael.

After Suzanne's passing at age 6 from kidney failure and his diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) following exposure to Agent Orange and other toxins in Vietnam, Richard spent many years researching the occurrence and impact of heavy metal poisoning.  He spent his later years passionately trying to educate and warn others about the accumulation over time of lead, mercury, aluminum, cadmium, arsenic and copper in the body and the connection to chronic illnesses prevalent in our industrial society.

Please pray for Richard that he may rest in peace.  A private family service will be held after the state of emergency has passed.
