Devoted father of Cindy Berger of Roslindale, Suzanne Schulhaus & husband Jonathan of No. Carolina, Marianne & husband Todd Joyce of Dorchester and Richard E. Jr. & wife Darcel of West Roxbury. Brother of Anita Abdou of No.Attleboro, Diana Dumas of Plainville and Charlotte Berger of Quincy. Also survived by Grandchildren Dominic Berger, Elsa Schulhaus, Gretchen Schulhaus and Sophia Berger. Richard was a retired mechanic for Eversource for 30 years, previously a fire alarm operator for the Boston Fire Department and late Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scouts Troop #8, Blessed Sacrament, Jamaica Plain. Funeral from the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St., West Roxbury, on Monday, March 13 at 9:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Name Church at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation in the funeral home on Sunday from 4p - 8pm. Interment St Joseph's Cemetery.
