Obituary

Nolan, Phyllis R.(McGrath) of Roslindale and Mission Hill, rejoined her beloved husband Jackie who predeceased her by 59 years.    Mother of John and Joseph of Roslindale, the late Denise Hansen and her husband Steve of Jamaica Plain, Tricia and Steve Hoover of Everett, and the late Phyllis, Jr. , babies  Marie,  Gerard and Paul.  "Gar" to Kristin, Ryan and Jennifer (Weir) Hansen, Nolan, Timothy, and Brendan Hoover and Jacqueline Nolan.  Great Gar to Jocelyn, Devin, Jordyn,  Ashley and Adalyn.  Daughter of William and Margaret, and predeceased by brothers Jack, Leo, Will, Ed, Paul, and sisters Martha Maher and Marie Thomas.  Loving aunt to 39 nieces and nephews (all her favorites).

Visiting hours will be held in the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home 1803 Centre St. West Roxbury, on Monday, January 30, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Mission Church) 1545 Tremont St. Roxbury, on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Interment Forest Hills Cemetery, where she worked for many years as Assistant Treasurer and knowledgeable, empathetic secretary. Resident of Mission Hill until her marriage, Phyllis was active in the parks Ladder Act, softball league, and performed in the Productions of Pilot's Daughter.  Mission was where she became dear friends for life with girls who, when older, named themselves "The Hens".  Communicant at St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Forest Hills, Church choir member and Eucharistic Minister.  She was always ready to lend a helping hand, give a ride to hitchhikers. "Ma Nolan" to many. Do a good deed in her memory.  Donations in her name to Community Servings, Jamaica Plain or Care Dimensions, Danvers.
