Neri
December 1, 1942 – September 1, 2021
Peter M. Neri of Brighton, age 78
Peter was the son of the late Jennie (Ignacia) and Peter Neri, father of the late Professor Janice Lee Neri of Boise, Idaho, and brother-in-law to the late John LaFarge.
Peter served in the United States Marines from July 1960 to July 1964, and was awarded the Good Conduct medal. One of his many areas of service was in the blockade ordered by President Kennedy during the Cuban Missile Crisis of October 1962.
Peter graduated from Brighton High School in 1960. He worked for many years as a professional photographer. Although he lived in Massachusetts for most of his life, he lived in Kentucky with his former wife Jane Sawin Neri in the 1970's. Peter also enjoyed travelling frequently to Florida.
In his youth, Peter played softball and was an avid Celtics fan, and would often sit in the 'nose bleed' seats of the old Boston Garden to watch the games with his sister Madeline.
In addition to his sister Madeline LaFarge of Cambridge, Peter leaves his brother John Neri and his wife Ingrid of Lincoln, Uncle Jim Loguidice of Reading, nieces Susan, Nancy, Karen, and Sofie, nephews Leo, Peter and Sean, grandson Abingdon Apel, and numerous cousins.
