MCHUGH; Paul James of Roslindale died July 5, 2014 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Beatrice (Conroy) McHugh for 66 years. Loving Father of Patricia and Howard Allen Of Manchester NH, Paul, Jr. and Linda McHugh of Candia NH, Robert and Evelyn McHugh of Milton, Anne and Raymond O'Sullivan of West Roxbury, William and Marie McHugh of Canton, Mary Theresa and Paul MacNeil of West Roxbury, Kathleen and Thomas McAnulty of Walpole. Cherished Papa of Christie Storniolo, Jessica Wachsman, Amybeth, David, Riley and the late Ryan McHugh, Caitlin and Jamie O'Sullivan, Emmalene, and Rachel McHugh, Kyle, Alec and Shamus MacNeil. Great grandfather of Grace, Nicholas, Julia, Zoe, Ryan and Benjamin. Devoted brother of Irene Falasca, Betty Whitney, and the late Margaret Sullivan, James, Robert, William, Gerald, Malcom, Donald, Eugene and Joan Thibeaut. As well as many nieces and nephews. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St, West Roxbury, on Thursday July 10, at 10:00 AM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in the Holy Name Church West Roxbury at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with Interment at Saint Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Wednesday July 9, from 4:00 to 9:00 PM. Paul was a WWII Navy Veteran serving on the LST 520 during the D-Day invasion. After his discharge in April 1946 he returned home and began his life with Beatrice. Paul enjoyed the company of family and friends, traveling to historic destinations, golfing, bowling, watching the Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins while enjoying a good cigar. He was a lifetime employee of The Boston Globe retiring in 1990 as Pressroom Foreman. Paul was a loving husband, dedicated father, cherished grandfather, great-grand father, brother, uncle and friend to many. He will be missed by all.
