Paul W.
Mcgillicuddy
July 16, 1930 – April 9, 2023
Paul W. McGillicuddy, 92, of Morristown, NJ passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023. Born in Boston, Paul was the eldest son of the late Cornelius F. McGillicuddy and Margaret O'Connor McGillicuddy. He lived most of his life in West Caldwell, New Jersey and Baltimore, Maryland. His career began in 1960 as Director of Computer Systems at Sandoz Pharmaceuticals in East Hanover, NJ where he oversaw the initial implementation of computer programs to automate standard company processes, such as Payroll. He moved to Baltimore in 1981 and became Vice President of Employee Relations for American Trading and Production Company where he designed pension and benefits programs. In 1992, he became a Certified Financial Planner and formed his own company, McGillicuddy Financial Advisors until he retired.
Paul joined the US Marine Corps directly after graduating from Harvard College and served for eight years, including a tour of duty in the Korean War attaining the rank of Captain.
Paul had a lifelong passion for sports and contract bridge and was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics and the Baltimore Ravens. He played competitive basketball, softball and golf throughout his life and won numerous gold medals representing Maryland in the Senior Olympics. Paul was a proud alumnus of Boston Latin School, Harvard College and Columbia Business School and was always a strong believer that a quality education was priceless. He was always on the go and loved to organize activities over the years, especially while at his favorite vacation spot on Long Beach Island at the New Jersey Shore. He coached recreational football, baseball and basketball and never met a sport he did not like. Paul was very proud of his Irish heritage and traveled to Ireland as often as he could. His most adventurous trip was when he climbed to the top of Carrauntoohil, the highest peak in Ireland and part of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks mountain range…at age 85! He had an infectious sense of humor and was always looking to get the most out of life and enjoyed spending winters in Naples, Florida golfing and playing master-level contract bridge. Paul was most proud of the family he built with the love of his life, Eileen, and leaves behind an incredible legacy of six children, eighteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Paul is predeceased by his brother Neil McGillicuddy. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Eileen (Wilson) McGillicuddy, his six children and spouses, Brian & Nancy McGillicuddy, Owen & Pat McGillicuddy, Lynne & Greg Douglas, Mark & Diane McGillicuddy, Anne & Steve Dyer and Karen & Kevin Cook and his brothers and spouses, Robert & Mary McGillicuddy and Kevin & Nancy McGillicuddy and his sisters, Mary Whitney and Irene Desharnais.
