Obituary

Noah Smith Jr. passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026 in Boston, Massachusetts. Noah Jr. was born on May 28, 1956 in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Noah Smith and Susan(Nathaniel) Smith.

Noah Jr. attended Boston Public Schools and graduated in May of 1974 from Hyde Park High School. After completing High School, Noah Jr. enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. While in the Marine Corps, he was promoted to the rank of Corporal and then in 1980, he received an Honorable Discharge. After serving in the Marine Corps, Noah Jr. went on to attend Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology and Wentworth Institute of Technology for Architecture and Engineering. He became a private contractor until his illness overcame him.

He was an avid chess player, a black belt in karate, and enjoyed boxing, reading, debating politics and teaching young people math and chess.

Noah Jr. leaves to cherish his memory and mourn in his passing, Two sons, Derone Charles Brewington, Noah Jamal Brewington of Boston, MA and two daughters Monique Pritchard of New Jersey and Princess Nora Brewington of Boston, MA. His grandchildren Jamal Brewington and Aliyah Brewington of Boston, MA. He was preceded in death by his life partner,

Jacequline Brewington.

Noah Jr. was the twelfth child of the loving union between Noah and Susan Smith's fifteen children. He was preceded in death by his sister Amanda Jones, her husband Eddie Walter Jones, and his two brothers Samie L. Smith and Thomas A. Smith. He leaves to cherish his memories Joe Edward Smith of North Andover, Massachusetts, Camilla Smith, Thelma Howard,

Patricia Ann Smith, Ronald Smith and his wife Catherine Smith, Richard Smith, Robert Smith, Susan Lorraine Smith, Dorothy Smith, Gregory Anthony Smith, all of Boston, Massachusetts., and Diane Marie Monroe and her husband Devon Monroe of Watertown, Massachusetts. He will be truly missed by his closest nephew and friend, Craig Smith of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Noah Jr. will be deeply missed by a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends that were touched by his wisdom and wit.

Visiting hours on Tuesday May 26, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon in The Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St. West Roxbury. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment in The Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA with Military Honors at 2:00 PM. USMC Veteran.
