Michael Thomas Auffrey, 68, of Quincy Massachusetts, passed away on September

4th, 2026 at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Michael grew up in South Boston and was an avid Patriots, Celtics, and Red Sox fan. He loved his city, and where he grew up. But above all, he loved his family. His family was the most important part of his life and helped shape the memories that will always be remembered. He will be remembered by his loved ones for the place he held in their lives and the moments they shared together.

Michael leaves behind his beloved wife, Renate Auffrey, his nieces, Michelle, Catherine, Danielle Paez-Auffrey, and nephew Eric Glover-Auffrey. Along with his brother in law David Paez, and grandchildren, Daeja and Dontay Auffrey, including his great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his mother, Catherine Francis Auffrey-Mckinnon, his father Victor Auffrey, his brothers Brian, Kenneth, Victor, and his youngest sister Karen. His nephew Richard Auffrey, and his beloved daughter Melissa Auffrey.

Family was Michael’s greatest treasure. He would move mountains, face any storm, and sacrifice his own comfort to protect the people he loved. Behind his strength was a person who weathered more than most could ever understand,and he held strong in silence. He continued to give what he could, love as deeply as he could, and fight for the people he loved most.

Michael passed away at Massachusetts General hospital and was surrounded by staff including his care taker Lorraine.

Michael will have a private burial at Cedar Grove Cemetery (920 Adams Street, Dorchester Mass.).

May he finally find peace that life did not always give him. His presence mattered, and will never be forgotten.
