Mary J. (Newbury) Wilson of Roslindale passed away peacefully on October 11, 2022 at the age of 84.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Richard W. Wilson.  Beloved mother of Richard W. Wilson and his wife Lisa of Norwood, Mary Jane Wilson of Roslindale, Patricia A. (Trisha) Wilson of Roslindale, Michael T. Wilson and his wife Kathleen of Roslindale, Ronald A. Wilson of Roslindale, Catherine M. Goss and her husband Michael of Franklin, John J. Wilson of Roslindale, and Robert M. Wilson and his partner Mary of Norwood.

Loving grandmother of Alyssa and her husband Chas, Richard and his wife Mary Kate, Shannan and her husband Oscar, Michael, Dylan, Ryan and Kyle.

Loving great grandmother of Charlotte, Kaiden and Mary Elizabeth.

Our mother was the strongest woman we knew, raising eight children is no easy feat but she did it with ease. Unfortunately she suffered from Alzheimer's for the past 19 years.  She was robbed of the ability to shower love and affection on her grandchildren and great grandchildren but she was surrounded by so much love. She had a sense of humor often flipping off her adult children when she felt we were being a bit much.

In her later years, when the Alzheimer's had taken most of her memory and she no longer remembered our names she remembered Ron. Ron was her primary care taker and we appreciate everything that he did for her.

After 84 years of life, 65 years of marriage, eight children, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren and numerous cats (she loved her cats), the memories will last a lifetime. She was the last living member of the Newbury family and often talked of her siblings especially Kay.

Mom has earned her angel wings and is loved and missed.

Visiting hours in The Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St. West Roxbury on Monday October 17, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday October 18, at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment private.
