Mary A
(Coan) Mclaughlin
October 22, 1945 – October 16, 2023
Mary Agnes (Coan) McLaughlin passed away Monday, October 16, 2023, surrounded by those she loved so deeply.
Mary was born and raised in St. Margaret's parish in Dorchester, MA where she attended Monsignor Ryan Memorial Catholic High School. She married the love of her life, Daniel, in 1967, and they started their family right away. They settled in Dedham, MA, her home of over 55 years.
Mary was, above all else, a devoted wife, mother and Catholic.
The center of Mary's world were her family, friends and neighbors. She loved to sit on her stoop down the Manor and catch up on everyone's news.
She loved Tom Brady, The Patriots, Lifetime Movie Network and Dateline. Every weekday she would shut out the world to watch her "stories." Every phone call was interrupted by at least 10 beeps, signaling calls on the other line.
She had the gift of making you feel like you were the only person in the room. No matter what was going on in her life, Mary McLaughlin always had an open ear and an open seat in her living room to listen, comfort and laugh with you. Her door was always open, and "Nana's House" was always the place where everyone wanted to be.
Beloved wife of Daniel McLaughlin for 56 years. Devoted mother of Peter McLaughlin of Dedham, Daniel McLaughlin Jr. and his wife, Cara of Webster, NY, Sheila Falconer and her husband, Tom of Dedham, Amy O'Brien and her husband, Joe of Dedham, Kathleen Schilling and her husband, Terry of Burke, VA. Pre-deceased by her beautiful baby girl, Mary Agnes. Grandmother of Colleen, Julia, Brian, Paul, Christopher, Patrick, Mary Ellen, Kevin, Maeve, Grace, Joey, Danny, Luke, Molly, Grace, Reagan, Bobby, Max, Peter, Abigail, and one more expected grandchild. Great grandmother to Fiona. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Dear friend and neighbor to many.
